Water Street Retreat || Built 2022

The backyard at the Water Street residence was a blank slate prior to the landscape installation in 2022. A floating flagstone patio was the sole feature, which provided a less than enjoyable space for the residents (see black and white photo for original conditions). The front yard previously had two trees and a few shrubs against the residence.

Alex’s design for the backyard extended the flagstone to enhance connectivity to the main residence. New features also included turf, a stock tank pool, and a shade sail secured with metal posts. Gutters were installed on the main residence which drain into a long vegetated swale via a subterranean pipe. Various sized boulders transition the turf patch into a sandbox, giving the residents’ kids a space for natural play. Glow-in-the-dark aggregate details the flagstone grout.

The landscape was installed by Logan Byers. The metal posts and gates were fabricated and installed by ModDustrial.
